How to cancel PocketGuard Plus
PocketGuard's paid plan is called PocketGuard Plus in its help centre and PocketGuard Premium on its pricing page. You can cancel it yourself. How you cancel depends on where you bought it: inside the mobile app, on the web app, or through the Apple App Store or Google Play.
PocketGuard says all subscriptions renew automatically unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. Do it a day early to be safe.
Cancel PocketGuard Plus in the mobile app
Steps from PocketGuard's help centre (checked October 26, 2026):
- Open the sidebar in the mobile app.
- Scroll down and tap Billing.
- Choose Modify subscription and follow the prompts to cancel.
Cancel PocketGuard Plus on the web app
If you bought Plus on PocketGuard's website:
- Go to the Settings tab of the web app.
- Click Customer Portal.
- Click Cancel plan.
If you pay through the App Store or Google Play
If the charge on your statement says Apple or Google Play, cancel it in that store. Deleting the app does not stop a store billed subscription.
- iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, PocketGuard, Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play Store, profile picture, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions, PocketGuard, Cancel subscription.
Refunds
PocketGuard's Terms of Use say that if you cancel within 14 calendar days of buying a subscription, you may request a pro rata refund of amounts you prepaid directly to PocketGuard, less applicable fees, by emailing support@pocketguard.com. Refunds go back to the original payment method. Purchases made through Apple or Google Play follow that store's refund process.
Canceling Plus vs deleting your account
Canceling stops the next renewal. It does not close your PocketGuard account. The Terms say you can terminate your account from the Settings page or by emailing PocketGuard support, and they may ask you to confirm by email.
PocketGuard pricing (so you know what you are canceling)
PocketGuard's pricing page (checked October 26, 2026) shows PocketGuard Premium at $74.99 billed yearly, shown as $6.25 a month, with a 7 day free trial. The page also says some customers may see a lifetime offer inside the app. Your price may differ if you joined on an older plan. Check the Billing screen before you cancel.
After you cancel: keep watching for money leaks
Canceling a budgeting app does not stop forgotten subscriptions still charging, hidden bank fees, or unusual charges from showing up. You just stop seeing them in one place.
Expense Canary is a narrower tool. It links US and Canadian banks read only through Plaid and looks for money leaks you may not know about: forgotten subscriptions still charging, hidden bank fees across accounts, and unusual or duplicate charges. It does not build a budget, and it does not cancel anything for you. Pricing: 7-day free Premium, then $4.99 USD/month.
Where PocketGuard is still the better choice
Keep PocketGuard if you want budgets, leftover spending, goals, a debt payoff plan, and a web app. Expense Canary does not do those jobs.
Where Expense Canary fits after you cancel
- You stopped keeping a budget but still want to know about leaks.
- You want hidden fees, forgotten subscriptions, and unusual charges from all linked banks in one list.
- You use iPhone or Android and bank in the US or Canada.
