How to cancel Rocket Money Premium
If Rocket Money Premium no longer fits, you can cancel it yourself in the app or on the website. Canceling Premium stops the membership fee at the end of your current billing cycle. It does not delete your account. Below are the official steps, then a note on what to watch for after you leave if you still want to catch forgotten subscriptions still charging and other money leaks across your banks.
Cancel Rocket Money Premium in the mobile app
Steps from Rocket Money's help centre (article updated July 30, 2026; last checked October 25, 2026):
- Open the Settings icon.
- Select Membership.
- Tap Manage Membership.
- Move the price slider all the way left to $0/month.
- Tap Cancel Subscription and follow the prompts.
Cancellation takes effect at the end of your billing cycle. You keep Premium features until then.
Cancel Rocket Money Premium on the website
- Click the Settings icon.
- Select Membership.
- Click Manage in the upper right corner.
- Move the slider all the way left to $0/month.
- Select Cancel Subscription and complete the prompts.
Same timing rule: access continues until the end of the current cycle.
What canceling Premium does and does not do
According to Rocket Money's help article:
- Canceling Premium does not delete your Rocket Money account.
- Active bill negotiations stay in place.
- Notifications and emails can continue unless you change alert settings.
If you also want the account removed later, use Rocket Money's own account deletion flow. That is separate from canceling Premium.
If you paid through Apple or Google Play
Some app purchases bill through the App Store or Google Play instead of inside Rocket Money's membership slider. If your Rocket Money charge appears under Apple or Google Play subscriptions, cancel it there as well:
- iPhone: Settings, your name, Subscriptions, then Rocket Money, then Cancel Subscription.
- Android: Google Play Store, profile, Payments and subscriptions, Subscriptions, Rocket Money, Cancel subscription.
Uninstalling the app does not cancel a store billed subscription.
Rocket Money pricing context (so you know what you are canceling)
Public Rocket Money pages (last checked October 25, 2026) describe:
| Plan | What they say it costs |
|---|---|
| Free | Core tools including subscription tracking |
| Premium | Pay what you choose, typically $7 to $14 a month; 7 day free trial for new Premium members |
| Premium+ | $15 a month; includes Premium features plus extras such as Rowan and bill negotiation without the success fee |
Prices and slider ranges can change. Confirm the amount on your Membership screen before you cancel.
After you cancel: keep watching for money leaks
Canceling a finance app does not stop your banks from posting fees, free trial rollovers, or forgotten subscriptions still charging. If you mainly used Rocket Money to see recurring charges, you still need a way to review every bank and card in one place.
Expense Canary is a narrower tool. It links US and Canadian banks read only through Plaid, lists recurring charges in Subscription Radar, and flags hidden bank fees, unusual charges, and duplicate bank charges. It does not cancel subscriptions for you and it is not a full budgeting suite. Pricing: 7-day free Premium, then $4.99 USD/month through the App Store or Google Play.
Where Rocket Money is still the better choice
Stay with Rocket Money (or keep Premium) if you want hands off cancellation, bill negotiation, net worth tools, or a full budget in one US focused app. Expense Canary does not offer those.
Where Expense Canary fits after you cancel
- You want a subscription leak finder without managing a full budget.
- You want forgotten subscriptions still charging, hidden fees, and unusual charges across all linked banks in one list.
- You bank in the US or Canada on iPhone or Android.
- You prefer clear pricing: 7-day free Premium, then $4.99 USD/month.
FAQ

Will I be charged again after I cancel? You should not be charged for a new Premium period after canceling, but you keep access until the current cycle ends. Check your next statement to confirm.
Can Rocket Money cancel other subscriptions for me after I cancel Premium? Hands off cancellation is a Premium feature. Free users can track subscriptions and cancel merchants themselves.
Does Expense Canary cancel Rocket Money or other subscriptions for me? No. It finds recurring charges and money leaks so you can cancel with the merchant.
