How to cancel Spotify Premium in Canada
To cancel Spotify Premium, go to Manage your plan on your Spotify account page and select Cancel subscription. Your Premium stays until your next billing date, then your account switches to the free plan. If there is no option to change your plan, your Premium is billed through a partner company, like your mobile or internet provider, and you cancel with them.
How to cancel Spotify Premium in Canada
Steps (from Spotify Support)
- Log in to your Spotify account page and go to Manage your plan.
- Select Cancel subscription.
- Premium stays on until your next billing date. After that your account moves to Spotify Free.
- Cancelling during a free trial that cost nothing? Your account switches to the free service right away, and Spotify says that trial can't be reactivated.

What Spotify Premium costs in Canada
Per Spotify.ca, checked November 5, 2026:
- Premium Individual: $13.99 a month
- Premium Student: $6.39 a month (eligible students; not available to users in Quebec)
- Premium Duo: $19.99 a month (2 accounts at the same address)
- Premium Family: $23.99 a month (up to 6 accounts at the same address)
Spotify's terms say a trial that took your payment details turns into a paid plan, charged at the current price on the first day after the trial ends, unless you cancel before then.
Billed by a partner, or by Apple?
- No option to change plan: Spotify says your plan is tied to a partner company. Go to Manage your plan, check Payment, and use the partner's contact link to cancel.
- Charge says Apple: if your receipt is from Apple, cancel in Apple subscriptions. On iPhone, open Settings, tap your name, tap Subscriptions, tap the subscription, then tap Cancel Subscription.
- No receipt from Apple and not a Spotify charge? Apple says to check your bank or card statement to see which company bills you, and contact that company.
Family and Duo plans
- If you are the plan manager, the same steps cancel the plan. Spotify says members lose Premium from the next payment date, and managed accounts move to the free, ad supported plan.
- If you are a plan member, those steps only remove you from the plan. Ask the plan manager to cancel.
Things to know after you cancel
- You keep your playlists and saved music on the free plan. You can still log in and play with ads.
- Still charged while your account shows Spotify Free? Spotify says you likely have Premium on a different Spotify account. Log out and back in with your other details.
- Check your next card or bank statement to confirm no new Spotify charge posts.
